Practice: Meditation for being gentle with ourselves

In these challenge times, it is good to let ourselves pause, rest, be still and notice how we are when slow down. These pauses allow us to tune into ourselves and listen. Sometimes we can be so occupied with checking how everyone else Is that we forget (or avoid) checking in on how we ourselves are doing.

A quality of gentleness is really key. Treat yourself like a dear friend or a child. Find a place of warmth, comfort and ease. Be patient with yourself and bring your attention gently back to the breath if it wanders.

In this meditation practice, allow yourself time to tune in, be with your body and mind, and listen to what comes up in the stillness. We begin to cultivate real love for ourselves when we treat ourselves with compassion.
